Romeo and Juliet

Romeo and Juliet is all about love, death and betrayal. These kids fall in love in a day and they know nothing about each other, just only think how committed they in the relationship. What makes it interesting is the passion between them and that they barely know each other and fall in love. The relation they had cost them their trust, and their lives  jus to be together. William Shakespeare describes young love as being difficult to maintain relationships without any problems along the way.William Shakespeare shows young love being difficult by Romeo and Juliet's death, hate, and betrayal.

In Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare made a choice to have two death scenes in the play. This show how young love can have it's own consequences. Romeo, the lover of Juliet, saw the battle between Mercutio and Tybalt. The battle started Tybalt demanding to see Romeo because Romeo was at the Capulet Party. But Mercutio refuses to let that happen. From their they battle, sadly Mercutio ended up dead. Romeo starts to build anger and depression and he used it against Tybalt. Romeo said "Now, Tybalt take the 'villian' back again/ That late thou gavest me, for Mercutio's soul/ Is but a little way above our heads/ Staying for thine to keep him company./Either thou or I, or both, must go him" (3.1.130-134) Death of Mercutio fired up Romeo's emotions. Romeo is telling Tybalt that while Mercutio is watching us, one of them or both will have to join with him. The death of a loved one creates chaos and anger.

The death of Romeo and Juliet was cause by confusion. Juliet was forced to marry Paris because Capulet commanded her. The solution to not marry Paris is to fake her death by drinking  vial. When she drank it, the funeral happened and Romeo didn't know why or how it happen because he was banned because he killed Tybalt. Romeo goes and find her and said " before he commits suicide, "Come, bitter conduct, unsavory guide!/ Thou desperate pilot, now at once run on the dashing rocks thy seasick wearily bark!/ Here's to my love.[drinking]. O true apothecary/ Thy drugs are quick. This with a kiss, I die" (5.3.116-120) He want to be guided to his love when he die. Young love has a possibility to end dramatically and  very depressing.

Beside letting " death" to be a outcome of young love. William Shakespeare uses "hate and rivalry" to explain more possibilities to be difficult. It explains that young love can be split because of a family's hate and rivalry. In Romeo and Juliet, the family between Romeo and Juliet is a important detail in the play that shows how difficult it is for Romeo and Juliet to have a simple relationship. Juliet is a Capulet and Romeo is a Montague. They are a huge rivalry and that's the only thing that getting between their relationship. Before Romeo saw Juliet and fell in love with her, Tybalt spotted Romeo and confronted to his uncle, Lord Capulet. Tybalt said," Uncle this is a Montague, our foe,/ A villain that is hither come in spite to scorn at our solemnity this night". (1.5.69-71) Tybalt is the only one in the  party that notice Romeo and complained about it. luckily, Lord Capulet didn't mind about it, if he is guess, treat his as a guess, he didn't wanted any problem in his party, he knows that its not the time or the place to start something little.

From a outsider point of view about Romeo appearance, From Juliet's point of view, she doesn't know he a Montague until the nurse ask him what's his name. When she found out, and told Juliet. Juliet response is " my only love is my only hate / too early seen unknown and known too late!/ Prodigious birth of love it is to me that I must love a loathed enemy ". (1.5.152-152) Juliet didn't like that Romeo is her #1 rivalry. Because he is a Montague , they cant be seen together because they are enemies and their family wouldn't allow that to happen. to continue their relationship they had to be secretly together in order. so they have to lie to their family, backstab them, and basically going against what they say. young love have some sacrifices  in order to maintain as relationship.

One of the sacrifices they have to make is betraying and lying. William Shakespeare shows that young love have to betray and disobey family rules. When Tybalt's death and Romeo's banishment, Juliet was only crying because Romeo is banish, she paid no mind about Tybalt. But the thing is that everybody thinks she is crying because of Tybalt's death. Her parents ask about how she feel. Juliet said, " Indeed, I never shall be satisfied/ With Romeo till I behold him--dead--/Is my poor heart, so far a kinsmen vexed./Madam, if you could find out but a man / To bear a poison, I would tempe it,/That Romeo should, upon receipt thereof/Soon sleep in quit. O, how my heart abhors/ To hear him named and cannot come to him/To wreak the love I bore my cousin /Upon his body that hath slaughtered him."(3.5.98-107) She said that she wanted Romeo dead and that she will be the one to kill him but I know that she doesn't mean it, she just saying that so they wouldn't find out why she actually crying about. She is lying to her family so she can still be with Romeo.

As lying being one concept of sacrificing her trust but she also betrayed and backstabbed her family. In the play, Juliet was going to be forced to marry Paris but she doesn't want to because she still in love with Romeo. So she lies to Lord Capulet about agreeing to marry Paris, but she only saying that so she can fake her death to get with Romeo. Juliet said to lord Capulet,' Where I have learned me to repent the sin/O f disobedient opposition/To you and your behest, and am enjoined/By holy Lawrence to fall prostrate here [kneeling]/To beg your pardon. Pardon, I beseech you/ Henceforward I am ever ruled by you." (4.2.18-23)Juliet just lied, betrayed and also backstabbed about what she said to Lord Capulet. Young love would make you do the drastic things just to be with that one person.

William Shakespeare was trying to send a message that young love is difficult and what it have to take to have a relationship. Young relationships is a lot of work to maintain. They will be something that will get between a relationship like family rivalry or death. In Romeo and Juliet, I learned that young love is confusing because how can you tell if your actually in love or is it worth it, going through this much work just to be with this person. Young love is not actual love, its just young people being delusional about actual love.
