Flipped

I read a amazing book called "Flipped", written by Wendelin Van Draanen. This is mostly about two kids making it right for each other. Before they became a "us", she just move and she go crazy for him. She likes his "dashing blue eyes" and his "flowing blonde hair". In second grade she would always think, "he still walking around with my first kiss." On the other end of this relationship, he think of her as annoying and very disturbing.  He would try to avoid her but he always bumps in to her and it would always feel awkward because she would act weird.

In seventh grade, it got to the point when she gets really obsess with him. She would smell his hair and always look over his head to pass a note to him. She is a very smart, but he catch it very annoying to him because when ever he having trouble with a subject or a short assignment. He think she being obnoxious and always show off. She think of it as trying to be helpful and also try to get his attention.

When they hit 8th grade, everything started to to "flip". When she found out about him throwing the eggs out, her heart was broken and crushed. He threw the eggs out because his family got scared that they might get Sal Manuela because he saw how dirty her farm is. From that moment, his life had changed. He thought it would be calm and relaxing now but the awkwardness got even worse. Now she would give him dirty looks and ignore him every time she sees him. What struct him t he most is when they would have event for boys in auctions, every boy would be assign to the girl who he was bought. When he was assign to the prettiest girl in school, he couldn't stop looking at the girl that hated him throughout 8th grade. Thats when he realized that, he feel in love with her.

From what both had learn is being surprised. He learned that " there is more to her than meets the eye" and she learned that " he's not quite all he seemed". But they ended up being together because they started to get to mnow eachother and grew trust with each other.

  1. I love this book and I love this post.
I read the book before and I like how you took the small little quotes from the story into to yours. And i like when you put "flip" in quotation marks. For me it feels like you and probably Draanen try to say to us that flipped but not in every way. Great post keep up the work.
